What 9:16 means

9:16 is the full-screen vertical ratio — it fills a phone top to bottom with no bars. The standard upload size is 1080×1920 px. An aspect ratio is width:height — 9:16 tells you the shape, and the pixel size tells you the resolution to export at. For sharp results, always export at the standard upload size (1080×1920) or larger at the same ratio; never upscale a smaller image.
